Last December I turned 70 years of age, and I am happy to say that I feel better right now than I have in over 10 years. About 6 years ago I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis experiencing mild to severe sciatica pain limiting my activities. I was fortunate enough to hear about Michael Hansen and Biosports when my orthopedic surgeon suggested that I try physical therapy. Michael was a huge help to me during the summers of 2001 and 2002 while I was in the area.
At that time we spent the summers in Chelan with our permanent residence in Yakima. Now that we are totally retired spending more time in Chelan and my husband having experienced a stroke last year, we are both spending two days a week this summer at Biosports. Although my x-rays show more degenerative disk disease, with the exercises and strengthening that I am learning from Michael, I feel fabulous. In fact for the first time in about 15 years, I water skied again -- on one ski yet. It was such a thrill for me to have our two grandsons, age 7 and 10, in the boat with cheers. They both want pictures to share at school of their Grandma's accomplishment. Thanks so much, Michael. ~ Karen Cameron
In sports two key ingredients are enjoying hard work and keeping the body in tip-top working order. I work with Biosports employees and train in their gym to try and get the most out of everyday, in search of success on the ski trails of Vancouver in 2010.
Whether your goal is walking to the corner coffee shop pain free or standing on the top step of the Olympic podium, Biosports is there to help. The expertise physical therapists Ruthie, Eric, Michael and Lyle bring to the job make Biosports my first and only injury prevention and sports rehabilitation stop. I just cannot think of a better team to work with. Hope to see you there. ~ Torin Koos
I had heard about Michael Hansen long before I met him. I was impressed even then at the number of people who followed him to Wenatchee from Seattle for therapy. I tucked the fact away in my mind "if I ever need therapy, I'll go to him."
When I told our boys that I was going to have my knee replaced, the first question I got was, "You're going to Biosports for therapy, aren't you?"
After the surgery, I did go to Biosports.
From the first appointment I felt relaxed and confident that I was getting the best treatment possible. Biosports is a happy place. The people who work there smile a lot, joke and listen to music. They call me by name. They also pay attention to what I say and ask questions of me to make sure I understand what's going on.
I appreciate the updates each time I have an appointment. I also appreciate the encouragement I receive and the assurance that I will be fully recovered before I am "turned loose."
Thank you Biosports for putting me back on my feet! ~ Joanne
